Debossing / Foil Stamping
Debossing vs. Foil Stamping - What's the Difference?
Debossing is a personalized gift imprint method where a metal plate is heated and pressed into a surface, such as a small leather product. This method leaves an "imprint" that remains in the leather.
For personalized names, a metal plate representing each letter of the name is arranged inside a grip and pressed into the product. For corporate logos, a custom special metal dye is made from artwork provided by the customer.
Foil Stamping is just an additional step in the debossing process. When a color imprint is prefered, a piece of specialized colored foil is placed on top of the product before debossing.
The result is a color imprint.
